More Than Moss: Transitioning a Family Legacy

For Nancy Smoot, the family business was a labor of love. It was more than just a business; it was a family legacy. She and her husband had been in the floral industry since 1986 and they built Mill Creek Natural, a company that specializes in the gathering and distribution of natural mosses in the foothills of Arkansas, from the ground up. With both wholesale and retail clients including craft store chains, supermarkets, and florists, they always took great pride in their business. Nancy’s husband passed away several years ago and, even though it was a difficult decision, she knew it was time to transition out of the business and move closer to her family. She reached out to REP to for help.

Kyle Martin is an entrepreneur who enjoys unique businesses and was looking for a new investment. Mill Creek seemed like an extraordinary opportunity. Although several potential buyers inquired about it, in the end, he was the perfect match.
